On My Terms Redux

After a long LONG break, I went back through some of my art and between the time I created this and now, I learned a lot in the way of techniques with Photoshop. So, seeing the older version, I had to redo some things. This is the 'updated' image of Ra'eihn'dra. If you can, I would love to read your critique of it.

Another Day

Well, I just got over a wicked sinus infection, I think. I didn't go see a doctor, so I'm guessing.

It sucks being sick! I was out of work 2 and a half days over it, but I think all the sleep I got really helped. Although I feel bad because now my boyfriend is sick.

He says I got him sick, but I don't think so, because he's had a nasty headache for over a week now. I know that we've had over a couple hundred reported and confirmed cases of the H1N1 virus, or 'Swine Flu' as everyone is calling it. I am not sure what the symptoms are, but I am hoping he doesn't have anything like that. (frown) I go into a form of 'mother hen' mode when he's sick, since it happens so rarely. If it's something that made him sick than it's gotta be something persistant.

Any way, I've been adding photos I took when my boyfriend

and I went to England in 2006. In that year we were there for for about a week, but man was it amazing! -- And expensive! If anyone is wondering, to get to England from Anchorage, Alaska it took us 18 hours, which is LAME. There is a flight that will fly over the North Pole that is a lot faster, but it's seasonal, and the cut off was before we wanted to be in England, so we had to take the long way. Those photos are in my gallery, if you want to take a peek.

Oh! reminds me, this skin on my journal I made myself with the CSS coding that someone else made. I am rpoud of it, though. I used a photo of a pair of griffons I found sculpted into the wall along an entry way in England and, after some crafty manipulation, made it into the background image for this skin. You like? ^^

Since I had so much fun toying with script to make journal skins, I will try to make one for every new journal entry, just because I can.

What to say... Well, I am from Alaska, born and raised! (gasp!)

And to save on the questions... I do not live in an igloo, I do not wrestle polar bears as a coming of age ritual, or use sled dogs to get around. I don't eat whale or seal, I always avoid Eskimo ice cream (you don't wanna know what its made of!) because it tastes disgusting. Alaska IS a state of the United States, so you don't need to ask what country code we use, or any of that nonsense.

Now that all of that is out of the way, lets see.

I am a quirky 26 year old woman working for the State, who wishes that somehow encompassed the artistic side of life. There is nothing artistic about my job, but I'm afraid the art community is nearly non-existant up here.

I love to write and read, and draw and sing, and I wish I could make my living off of those talents. Until I become successful enough to walk out of my job, my main passion for the arts are accomplished on the side. I am also an actor in the Three Barons Renaissance Faire in Anchorage, which is a great vent for frusteration, though it only is held 2 weekends a year.

I am always up for an artistic challenge, so if you have anything you'd like drawn, I do take commissions. The pricing is dependant on what it is and how much detail it requires.
